Get your good selves down to the much loved Under The Stairs tonight from 7pm for the opening of Stags and Skellies, a new show by Edinburgh based Penny Forbes and Kirsty Anderson.

Kirsty Anderson goes by the business name of wooden tree when she is not exhibiting. Her work centers on the deconstruction and transformation of found and unwanted textiles- turning the undesirable or discarded into a work that has new life and creates fresh memories. The sourced textiles range from garments and pillowcases to embroidered table cloths. It pretty much feels like she has raided your granny's linen closet. The work takes it shape in soft pieces like stags and foxes and embroideries.

Penny's work is mainly inspired by her love for the Macabre and the Mexican day of the dead holiday "Día de los Muertos" he is obsessed with sugar skulls. Using visuals such as bird skulls, Magpies, skeletons, bright felt and floral fabrics to create a unique collage/applique feel to her embroidered cushions and textile hangings. Penny turns the darker side of animals and people into colourful, fun and super cute interiors. Penny also goes by the name of Pegeggleg.

The show runs from 7th of July to 30th of August.
