New work in from The 1985 collective!

Just thought we would let you know we have just recieved in some new work from The 1985 Collective in the form of the rather detailed Birds In Paradise print above by Lindsey Brown! This is adding to a bunch of lovely goodies we already have in store from them, such as this hilarious ruler set and sausage dog cushion designed by Martin Baillie! The sausage dog also comes in scarlet red which is exclusive to The Red Door Gallery!

Underground Music to check out!!

If you don't have plans already to go down, it's definately worth venturing out to the Banshee Labyrinth, Edinburgh on Tuesday night for some seriously special underground music from The Doozer, Long Distance Runner and Shareholder. The Red Door are especially fans of the Long Distance Runner, which is a four piece led by the talented Edinburgh based Wee Rogue (also worth checking out on myspace). Although, those of you already fans of the Rogue shouldn't expect his usual meloncholy tales of war over Faheyesgue guitar, the Long Distance Runner find influences in Neil Young circa 1990's, Slint and The Replacements amoungst other cult post rock groups. Definately worth going down to check out some rare performances from some of  Britain's best kept secrets!

A gallery that will blow your socks off!

For those of you who are fans of taxidermy and all things creepy crawlie, this place will be heavenly! This beautiful 170 year old gallery has everything from your usual framed butterflies all the way to Giraffes and Zebras too! If you are ever in the the Rue du Bac, area of Paris not far from the Louvre, you have to have a wee look in Deyrolle, even if only for an ogle! This is not the only shop like this either, there is another similar to this on Boulevard Saint Germain which is even more approachable and affordable, and the tremendously friendly shop owner is amazing (including his big grey moustache) and will give you a wee giggle and a story while you browse!

@LiveFromTheLQ

 We were lending an ear to Live From The Latain Quarter on Fresh Air FM this morning and we were just tickled by their tribute to St Patrick's day from the hillerious Father Ted that we thought we'd pass it on.  Happy St Patrick's Day!
