London based illustrator Hanna Melin emailed me today with some fun new prints which are on their way up to us at The Red Door. Hanna, who was born in Sweden, graduated from an MA in Communications at The Royal College of Art in London in 2004 and now works as a freelance illustrator. We love stocking Hanna's prints and ceramics and can't wait to get these new prints for you all to see.

I just came across this amazing website which makes me very very happy! Tiny Buildings is a website dedicated to the amazing collection of handcrafted buildings by Sharon and her late husband James. These intricate and adorable buildings are made with love from business cards, packaging and other nice papers. Above are some of the buildings that I particularly loved. I think it is such an inspiring idea and hope you will all have a go at crafting a beautiful building that means something special to you. If you do, please let both us and Sharon at Tiny Buildings know. Time to start collecting those business cards!

To keep you all up to date, here are some current shots of The Red Door space for you all to take a wee look at. The two stunning pencil drawings in red frames are by Edinburgh based artist and all round genius Lucy MacLeod. The cardboard trees in the window (top shot) are lovingly handmade by the extremely talented Michael Kirkham (whose work we cant get enough of).

These are a couple of shots taken by a friend who has a bit of a passion for 'customising' his Lomo Holga cameras. These are taken with a polaroid back made specially to fit the Holga, it takes the old peel apart film, which due to timing and temperature (and temperament) can lead to some beautiful and unexpected things.

I just came across some stunning work from Mateo Ilasco stationery. These guys are based in the States and produce some stunning journals, stationary sets, bookplates, cards and textiles. I love the colours, shapes and lines - so simple, yet effective.

Our favourite artist/designer/musician Tommy Perman has just left us with some more of his great postcard sets for you all to buy. This 16 card set features a selection of Tommy's screenprints, digital prints and felt-tip pen drawings and is printed on beautiful, heavy weight uncoated stock. Come and check them out.

Finally time for another post. I dont know where all the time has gone. Our lovely postie just dropped off a great box of goodies from London based ceramic artist Jade Gallup or otherwise known as 'mememe'. Jades pieces are stunning and we love stocking her wares at The Red Door, although her wonderful bits and pieces never stay for long (hint, if you want some, pop in now!). She recently featured as a 'rising star' in The Guardian and The Mighty Boosh decided to deck themselves out in her jewellery for the future sailor scene in episode 3 of their new series. Excellent.
