No doubt your eyes may have already seen this beauty of a music video for Benni Hemm Hemm’s “Retaliate”. Wonderfully illustrated and animated by Michael Kirkham and Vivien McDermid, we believe it is worth shouting about again, and again,.......and again. Benni Hemm Hemm's acoustic driven notes synch perfectly hand-in-hand with the duos stunning visuals.

Beth Fourace and Franki Finch are Glasgow based model makers who have created some charming and intricately detailed model kits of Scottish Tenements. These objects have become very popular with Red Door customers over the years, which sparked the idea to run a window display of customised tenements by a group of talented artists. Each tenement exudes an artists own personal style and creativity, turning it into a one off piece of art for our customers to buy and take home.
Each Tenement is lovingly customised and available to purchase in a pricing range between £35 and £75 depending on how intricate each design is. For more information on any of the tenements, please flick us an email at info@edinburghart.com as we would be more than happy to help. More images of each individual tenement and display will be follow later this week.

Kirsty Anderson goes by the business name of wooden tree when she is not exhibiting. Her work centers on the deconstruction and transformation of found and unwanted textiles- turning the undesirable or discarded into a work that has new life and creates fresh memories. The sourced textiles range from garments and pillowcases to embroidered table cloths. It pretty much feels like she has raided your granny's linen closet. The work takes it shape in soft pieces like stags and foxes and embroideries.
Penny's work is mainly inspired by her love for the Macabre and the Mexican day of the dead holiday "Día de los Muertos" he is obsessed with sugar skulls. Using visuals such as bird skulls, Magpies, skeletons, bright felt and floral fabrics to create a unique collage/applique feel to her embroidered cushions and textile hangings. Penny turns the darker side of animals and people into colourful, fun and super cute interiors. Penny also goes by the name of Pegeggleg.
The show runs from 7th of July to 30th of August.
